OLD KENT BANK SOUTHEAST SAVINGS ACCOUNT DEPOSIT RECEIPT FOR $50
January 23, 1987
As with the previous post this is hardly a relic but it's a quick study on how the banking industry turns old names into new faces. With its origins dating back to the Daniel Ball Exchange Bank in 1853 the Old Kent namesake has changed and merged into several hands from Old National Bank to Kent State Bank (the two merged in 1958) and finally its present inculcation as a property of Fifth Third Bank, having been purchased in the early 2000s. Another happy find in the pages of a book where I've come across just about half of the posted items.
