A POEM ABOUT JOHN-JOHN BY CANDY GEER

The Detroit News, January 21, 1964 (enlarge)
Candy Geer, of Grosse Pointe, like most young people of her time, was deeply troubled by the assassination of JFK and expressed this in a poem to the dead president's son. Printed in The Detroit News the poem entitled "Six White Horses" was a favorite among high schoolers and listeners of radio when it was broadcast. 6,400 asked for copies and the News obliged them by reprinting it. Too bad the clipping I bought at an estate sale didn't have the rest of the article.
